UFC 194 is only days away and the pressure is on.

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will finally meet interim champ Conor McGregor Dec. 12 in Las Vegas, Nevada in what will absolutely be a turning point for both men.

Aldo doesn't fight incredibly often, but he doesn't lose. He hasn't lost a fight in 10 years and he's the only featherweight champ the UFC has ever known. In a few short years, McGregor has catapulted himself into stardom with less wins, but more mouth.

In 1960, Americans were asked whether they would be pleased, displeased, or unmoved if their son or daughter married a member of the other political party.

One perpetual problem in the social sciences is figuring out what people really think. For example: How much of a bias do you have against black people? You could just ask people, but their answers aren't reliable — they often lie to researchers, and sometimes they don't even realize how biased their snap reactions really are.

Republican presidential candidates are trying to outdo each other on who will murder ISIS the best.

I do believe this might even be more effective than the New York Times editorial they placed on their front page this weekend.

Depuis mes années d’étudiant, j’ai dans ma bibliothèque un livre illustré sur la vie nocturne à Paris pendant l’entre-deux-guerres. Je l’avais trouvé dans une librairie d’ouvrages anciens dans le vieux quartier d’Oudemanhuispoort, à Amsterdam. Son auteur est Leo Faust, l’ancien propriétaire du fameux hôtel de la rue Pigalle, Le Hollandais, à Paris (devenu une laverie “orientale”). Faust considérait comme son devoir de montrer à ses compatriotes néerlandais les plaisirs de la Ville lumière.
