0

The Pasig City local government announced on Sunday, July 3, that non-immunocompromised adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old may avail of their first booster shots at the designated vaccination sites in the city starting on Monday, July 4.

Eligible individuals may proceed to the Pasig Sports Center or the SM City East Ortigas for the vaccination.

The vaccination site at the Pasig Sports Center will be open from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, the site at SM City East Ortigas will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Only 300 slots are available per day in each of the vaccination sites. Admittance will be on a “first come, first serve” basis.

To qualify for the booster shot, five months must have passed since the adolescent’s second primary vaccine dose.

Individuals under this age demographic must have their parent or guardian present during the session.

They are required to bring their vaccination card, a ballpen, their Pasigpass QR code, and a valid identification card (ID) of the parent or guardian.

If no parent or guardian is available, an authorization letter signed by their parents must be presented.

Pasig City opened the first booster dose vaccination to immunocompromised 12 to 17-year old adolescents on June 28 at the Pasig City Children’s Hospital (PCCH).

A medical certificate stating their doctor or physician’s recommendation for the Covid-19 booster shot was required.

The Department of Health (DOH) began administering the booster shots for the immunocompromised members of the pediatric age group 12 to 17 years old on June 23.

The DOH gave the green light to administer booster shots to the rest of the adolescents within the 12 to 17 demographic starting on June 30, according to Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.

Pfizer remains to be the only vaccine brand approved for the booster shots for this age group.

As per the directives of the DOH, the Pasig City local government and health office continue to encourage citizens to receive their vaccines in order to increase the immunity of individuals against the multiplying variants of Covid-19.

Following the swell of Covid-19 cases nationwide, the Pasig City Health Office recorded on Friday, July 1, 153 active cases, 79,829 recoveries, and 1,607 deaths.
