Nartatez orders deeper probe on rogue cops involved in syndicate responsible for robbery in Cavite
CAMP BGEN. VICENTE LIM, Laguna — Police Regional Office-Calabarzon regional director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. issued an order to investigate deeper the involvement of active and dismissed Philippine National Police members to a syndicate responsible in a robbery incident in General Trias City, Cavite.
Nartatez made the order following the arrest of three suspects, including two dismissed police officers and an active member.
Nartatez wanted to unmask the group’s eight other cohorts involved in a robbery last October 18, 2022 at Bella Vista, Brgy. Santiago, General Trias City, Cavite.
Nartatez added that the operatives were able to effect an arrest during a hot pursuit operation in Quezon City and Cavite against Franklin Requmin Menor, John Carlo Tabuna Manchon, and police Lieutenant Reynald Alcantara Afable.
Their cohorts were nowhere to be found in their known addresses.
Nartatez identified the eight as Alvin Anchaco Orenda alias ‘Alvin’ of Brgy. Langkaan, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, an incumbent municipal councilor of Sulat, Eastern Samar; Sunny John Atanacio Postrizo alias ‘Jong-Jong,’ resident of 8 Isadora St., Don Antonio Heights, Quezon City; Albert Bautista of Laguna, ex-Security Guard at Ayala Alabang; Police Corporal Armaejael Perea alias ‘Jay,’ resident of Dasmariñas City, Cavite, assigned as a Jailer in Imus City Police Station who went on Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) after the robbery incident; Francis Basas alias ‘Ritchie’ or ‘Kiko’ and ‘Guilian’ of Silang, Cavite; Berly Apolonio of 1879 Mar St. Varon, Tondo, Manila, a dismissed PNP Officer, and a classmate of John Carl T. Machon; PSSG Marlon Campos a.k.a. ‘Bomber’ who was assigned at Silang MPS and a resident of Dasmarinas City who is on an active status who went on AWOL Oct 20, 2022; and William Dagotdot, also known as ‘Porky,’ a resident of Carmona-Timbao Road in Biñan City Laguna.
On inquest proceedings, cases of robbery were filed against Franklin Menor, John Carl Machon, and Reynald Afable before the City Prosecutor’s Office of General Trias City Cavite, including the eight in the instant case as respondents, Nartatez mentioned.
“At this stage, there is a strong possibility that there are other police officers involved in this group’s nefarious operations including other high-profile crimes that had been committed in CALABARZON and nearby regions,” said Nartatez.
“We will pursue the lead in collaboration with other law enforcement units and I will personally ensure that these scalawags and misfits will be booted out of the police service,” added Nartatez.
