Summer conscription starts in Armenia

From April 19 to July 31 inclusive, in Armenia there will be a conscription for compulsory  military and alternative service of those male citizens who will turn 18 years old before June 30, 2024 inclusive, as well as those citizens whose right to deferment from conscription expires on June 30, 2024, inclusive.

As stated in the draft decision, as part of the summer conscription  of 2024, until July 31, 2021 inclusive, ordinary military personnel  who have completed compulsory and alternative military service within  the established time frame will be demobilized.

"As part of the summer conscription of 2024, the recruitment of the  Armed Forces with citizens conscripted for compulsory military and  alternative service of ordinary personnel will be carried out from  June 24 to July 31, 2023 inclusive. Within the period established by  law, demobilize military personnel who have completed compulsory  military service or alternative military service of ordinary  personnel - from June 13 to July 31, 2024 inclusive," the document  says.

As part of the summer conscription of 2024, women who have submitted  an application for compulsory military service as privates before  March 1, 2024 will also be recruited for compulsory military service.
