Armenia`s government proposes reviewing procedure for admission to higher schools
ArmInfo. The Government of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MOSKS), proposes reviewing the current procedure for admission to higher education institutions.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said on April 25 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the change is due to the strategic goals of revising the principles of admission, developing new mechanisms and their implementation.
The minister recalled that the new general education standard has been tested in the Tavush region since the beginning of 2021-2022, and this year there are already the first graduates completing their studies according to the new standard. Therefore, changes are now being made to the admission procedure, which will allow the first graduates to follow the new admission system, Andreasyan added.
The purpose of the regulation is also that from the end of the current 2023-2024 academic year, the tests for which exams are organized were used in a new format and corresponded to the content of the standard. This is a pilot implementation of a new test system to evaluate the final results of new software material.
The results of final exams will become the basis for admission to the university, and from 2026 this system will be in effect for all graduates.
