Zatulin: Pashinyan is trying to put all responsibility for losing war with Azerbaijan in NK on Russia
ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to shift all responsibility for losing the war with Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh onto Russia. Thus, the first
deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian
Integration and Relations with Compatriots, Konstantin Zatulin,
commented on Pashinyan's accusations against two CSTO member
countries of providing assistance to Baku in 2020.
"My position has long been known. Pashinyan is a 'liar' and a
'scoundrel' who is trying to direct the anger of the Armenian people
towards Russia, having failed and lost everything that his
predecessors and the entire Armenian people fought for, for many
years," Zatulin said in an interview with Gazeta .Ru". The
parliamentarian also explained which two countries of the Collective
Security Treaty Organization Pashinyan was talking about. "In my
opinion, you don't need to guess [Russia and Belarus]." Zatulin
stated.
During the government hour in parliament on May 22, Prime Minister of
Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that what the President of Belarus said
to his Azerbaijani counterpart he has been trying to convey to the
Armenian people over the past four years.
"I personally know about participation in preparations for war
against us at least two CSTO countries. These states imitate their
desire to help us. It must be said frankly that this war was not
directed directly against Nagorno- Karabakh, it was a war against
Armenia, against its existence. After November 9, 2020, these
expectations were not met. Similar actions were taken in May 2021,
when the country's parliament was dissolved ahead of early
parliamentary elections. But even then these hopes did not come
true," Pashinyan noted, adding that these actions actively continued
in subsequent years.
The last evidence of these actions was on May 9 (numerous rallies in Yerevan, ed. note), but it also failed. "They won't succeed," said the RA Prime Minister.
