Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has spoken of Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring this season.

Ronaldo has just passed Sanchez on the all-time scoring charts of the La Liga.

The Mexican told AS: "I'm delighted that a player like him and one who plays for Madrid achieved this; it was just a question of time…

"He spends more time in the box now. The time has come to rely less on physical exertion and keep energy levels for key moments of the game. This happened to us all and it's now happening to Cristiano.

"I feel that they (Ronaldo and Rafa Benitez) both are behind this. I feel they have looked for a solution where the effort will be less for the player but the danger levels can be just as high.

"I see that at times he's somewhat uncomfortable in this role as a centre forward, but his talent and his faculties will attest for him. He'll do well."
