Nersisyan: It will be clear after European Championship who will go to Rio

As the team’s head coach Artashes Nersisyan told Mediamax Sport they had the intention of keeping the 2 Olympic quota places.

“Of course, it would have been better if we could get another Olympic quota place, but we have to be realistic. The girls were able to participate to the best of their abilities and gain important points for the team. It was the first time that Nazik Avdalyan had participated after 6 years of pause: it’s only natural that she had difficulties competing for a medal. Hripsime Khurshudyan improved her results compared with the European Championship. I’m happy with other girls’ results as well”, Nersisyan stressed.

According to the coach it was the last ranking tournament, that’s why all the participant countries were over prepared and the World Championship athletes were very strong.

“We will start to get ready for the European Championship starting from January 15 that will take place in Norway in April. I will be surer who will go to the Olympic Games after that”, he concluded.
