Pics: Twilight runners do it for charity

|||Cape Town - The streets of Cape Town were filled with a burst of colour and funky costumes as friends, family and colleagues participated in the 33rd annual Community Chest Twilight Festival on Tuesday.
This year’s theme for the 5km walk or run was “Uniting the City for Charity”.
Event organisers urged participants to bring along stationery to the starting point at the City Hall.
“By donating stationery to Cape Town’s primary and secondary schools in need, participants can help children battle those first-term back-to-school butterflies and be fully equipped for the classroom in 2016.
“All profits raised will be dedicated to the education sector and recipient schools will be carefully identified by community chest’s social workers at the beginning of next year.”
The walk started at 6.30pm along Adderley and Strand streets and weaved through the Company’s Garden to the Grand Parade.
Jimmy Nevis and X-Factor’s first winners, Four, set the mood at the finish line.
Twilight Festival participants were also provided the opportunity to choose how they would like their event fee spent.
As per their request, Community Chest would use the funds to purchase either school bags, shoes, stationery starter-kits or other materials.
