Tavush for Motherland movement members in front of Human Rights Defender`s office
ArmInfo."This movement has nothing to do with the integrity of the church, this is my personal decision, which is why I asked to terminate my powers," stated the head of the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan during today's procession.
"I can't lay my head on the pillow when my homeland is being cut in half. These people planned to deal with the church after all the issues were resolved," Galstanyan.
The movement "Tavush in the name of the Motherland" from the Church of St. Anne went in a procession to the office of the Human Rights Defender on Pushkin Street.
At the RA Human Rights Defender's office, Galstanyan noted that they came to the Ombudsman's office to ask, all this time, who has this structure served - the protection of human rights in Armenia or someone else?
"We found out that the press secretary of the Human Rights Defender is coming to meet us. Now look at the difference: in front of all departments there were huge walls of police, but in front of the Ombudsman's office there was not a single one. Either the Human Rights Defender is not important in their eyes, or they they want to show that the Human Rights Defender really serves the people," Galstanyan added.
The Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ombudsman, Artur Aslanyan, who came out to the demonstrators, informed that at the moment the Human Rights Defender is ready to receive Bagrat Galstanyan and four other citizens, but without the participation of journalists.
