Hillary Clinton: Putin Won't Violate My No-Fly Zone
Here's liberal foreign policy in a nutshell. Assume that any conflict with an enemy is due to a misunderstanding and can be cleared up by being extra condescending. Problem solved.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she wants to involve the Russians as much as possible in Syria, especially since they now have felt the wrath of ISIS.
The Russians were involved in Syria before the US got there. They've been involved in Syria since Hillary Clinton was about 3 years old. Considering how much firepower they have deployed, they're as involved in Syria as they could be. If they were any more involved, they would have annexed Syria.
Clinton said if she were president, she would tell the Russians the U.S. needs "if not your help, at least your acquiescence."
That's bound to impress Putin. And it's not at all a sign of weakness.
The Democrat has been one of the earliest supporters of establishing a no-fly zone in Syria, which the administration has not yet embraced.
But asked if she would be prepared to shoot down a Russian military plane if they were to violate the airspace -- as apparently happened in Turkey -- Clinton denied it would ever come to that.
"That would not happen, because we're going to put up a no-fly zone where the Russians are clearly kept informed," Clinton said. "I want them at the table."
So Hillary's plan is to set up a No-Fly Zone and then assume that Russia will go along with it without actually having a backup plan if it doesn't. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton has effectively announced that she won't enforce that No-Fly Zone against Russia... giving Putin no reason to comply with her Pretty Please Don't Fly Here Zone.
Hillary Clinton has managed to completely sabotage her own terrible policy before she even became the nominee. It's a hell of an achievement.
