These are the actors who have auditioned to play the young Han Solo
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is just a few weeks away from release — but while audiences have their eyes on Episode VII, Disney is quietly hunting for an actor to play Han Solo as a young man in a prequel/spin-off directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the masterminds behind The LEGO Movie and the 21 Jump Street franchise.
Which leads to the next big question: Who could possibly fill Harrison Ford's shoes in the role of Han Solo? The Hollywood Reporter has a rundown of the many, many actors who have already auditioned to take on the part of the young smuggler. The names include:
- Miles Teller (Fantastic Four, Whiplash)
- Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla)
- Dave Franco (Neighbors, 21 Jump Street)
- Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent)
- Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson series, The Perks of Being a Wallflower)
- Rami Malek (Mr. Robot)
- Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead)
It's a long list, but it's also a mere fraction of the 2,500-plus actors who have auditioned for the role. Fortunately, Lord and Miller also have plenty of time to make their choice. The young Han Solo spin-off isn't scheduled to hit theaters until May of 2018.
