‘You’re the Worst’ Renewed for Season 3 by FXX
“You’re the Worst” has been renewed for a third season by FXX, the network announced Wednesday.
The comedy series from creator and executive producer Stephen Falk will return in summer 2016. Falk has also signed a multi-year overall deal to write, develop and produce television projects for FX Networks and FX Productions.
“Stephen is one of the best new talents in comedy – as funny, thoughtful and original as ‘You’re the Worst’ and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next,” said Grad. “‘You’re the Worst,’ already one of the most critically-acclaimed comedies on television, is also one of the most innovative, something Stephen and the cast will continue in the much-deserved third season. The daring turn this season, led by the honest and respectful portrayal of Gretchen’s depression, was a very courageous move for a comedy and another milestone for ‘You’re the Worst.'”
Chris Geere stars as the narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive Jimmy Shive-Overly who has inadvertently found himself paired up with cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn Gretchen Cutler, played by Aya Cash. The cast also includes Desmin Borges as Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless, war veteran roommate and Kether Donohue as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime.
The series is currently airing its second season, with the season finale, “The Heart is a Dumb-Dumb,” set to air Wednesday, Dec. 9.
