Ather Rizta Production Begins in Tamil Nadu
Ather Energy, the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has commenced production of its new Ather Rizta electric scooter at its facility in Tamil Nadu. The Ather Rizta was launched earlier this year in April 2024, with a starting price of ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory).
The Rizta comes in three variants and seven colour options, catering to a variety of customer preferences.
- Budget-friendly option: The most affordable version boasts a 2.9 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 105 km on a single charge.
- Extended range: For those seeking longer commutes, a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack provides a claimed range of around 125 km.
Performance and Features:
The Ather Rizta is equipped with a PMS electric motor mounted on the frame. This translates to a quick acceleration of 0-40 kmph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 80 kmph.
Riders can expect a comfortable and tech-savvy experience with features like:
* TFT touch-enabled digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation
* Smartphone connectivity
* Mono-LED headlamp
* LED taillights
* 12-inch alloy wheels
The Ather Rizta lives up to its family-oriented focus by offering the biggest seat ever seen on an electric scooter in India. Additionally, it boasts a spacious 34 litres of cargo storage under the seat, with an extra 22 litres in the front boot for smaller items.
Ather Rizta Subsidy Eligibility:
Depending on the state of residence, customers may be eligible for government subsidies on electric vehicles, potentially bringing down the on-road price of the Ather Rizta.
Overall, the Ather Rizta’s production commencement marks a significant step in making this family-friendly electric scooter accessible to Indian consumers.
