Check out the new BMW 1-Series, sadly not for India.
BMW has just revealed the exciting fourth generation of its iconic 1-Series hatchback. While this sporty compact car is set to hit the global market in October 2024, there’s some sad news for Indian fans: BMW discontinued the 1-Series in India back in 2017.
What India Misses Out On
The new 1-Series boasts a range of powerful engine options, including both petrol and diesel variants. The highlight is the M135, a powerhouse packing a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 296 bhp and all-wheel drive. All models come paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission.
BMW 1-Series Features
Beyond performance, the new 1-Series features a complete design overhaul, both inside and out. The exterior has sparked some debate, particularly with the new headlights, but the signature BMW grille gets a sleek update. Inside, the cabin receives a luxurious makeover with a new digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a focus on sustainable, leather-free materials.
While Indian car lovers won’t be able to experience the new 1-Series firsthand, it’s still an impressive showcase of BMW’s design and engineering capabilities. Here’s hoping that future BMW offerings resonate with the Indian market and make it back to showrooms!
