Hibs outplay Greens in second half
FLORIANA-2, HIBERNIANS-4
Hibernians twice came from behind to overpower Floriana with a spirited second-half display.
The champions trailed 2-1 at half-time but found their rhythm after the break to hit three goals past the fading Floriana who had no answer to their opponents' powerful attacks.
With this win, Hibs have rejoined Valletta at the top with 28 points.
Floriana's better start produced an early goal after 13 minutes as Matteo Piciollo's shot sailed past the wrong-footed Jurgen Borg, the Hibernians goalkeeper.
But Hibs equalised two minutes later. Andrew Cohen's cross, from a long-range free-kick, sailed into the box and Andrea Scozzese appeared to touch the ball into his own net as he tried to clear.
The Greens lost left-back Jurgen Pisani to injury around the 20th minute mark but their spirits rose again when they restored their lead eight minutes later.
Mauricio Villa, who had replaced Pisani, ran into the box before laying the ball to Mario Fontanella who stabbed the ball home at the near post.
Hibs defender Rui Da Gracia Gomes blasted high from the distance as Hibs tried to react.
Jorginho then headed wide from Clayton Failla's right-wing corner.
