Mandre college stripped of state aid

Administrative approval given by the state for government grants to Mandre College of Commerce in Mandrem has been withdrawn, leaving the vast Pernem taluka with only one other higher education institutethe Government College at Virnodathat offers subsidized college education. Congressman Ramakant Khalap, who is part of the Mandre College management, has now threatened to protest at Parliament if the state government does not provide grants to the institute as promised.
