Meet Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and Doomsday in the crazy new Batman v Superman trailer

Last night, Ben Affleck appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to introduce a new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — and, well, it's definitely something:

The trailer gives us the first encounter between Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), reporter, and Bruce Wayne (Afleck), billionaire playboy, as they needle each other about Batman and Superman. "Maybe it's the Gotham City in me," says Wayne. "I just have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns."

But the stand-off between the two titular heroes is only one part of this very busy trailer. In rapid succession, we meet Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg in squeaky nerd mode; Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot); and Doomsday, the apparent villain of the movie, famed among comic-book fans for killing Superman in a top-selling 1992 arc.

It's a lot to take in — but we won't know if all these heroes and villains can add up to a coherent movie until Batman v Superman hits theaters in March.
