Armenian president thanks national security service and police for neutralizing armed group
«Of course, I will reveal nothing connected with the preliminary inquiry, since I am not entitled to do it, but I can say that prompt actions were carried out at a very high level,» he said in an interview with some Armenian TV companies.
He finds it necessary to express gratitude to the National Security Service for preventing a tragedy.
Answering all those who downplay the special service's job, he said that various weapons were found in the house leased by these people.
In his opinion, the rumors calling into question the special service's actions and being spread by people who regret that successful raid.
“They would be very happy if the group acts and if events more or less resembling what happened on October 27 [terrorist act in Armenian parliament in 1999]. They would be happy,” Sargsyan said.
He said these people would wait for the completion of the investigation and the trial, and if it becomes clear that there is no evidence, it will be possible to accuse the National Security Service.
Sargsyan is convinced that such people are few in the society. He said he toured two provinces in Armenia in Saturday and met people who passed on their gratitude to the national security and police officers.
In his words, prevention of such attempts improves the world, but prophylaxis is not appreciated in the world and particularly in Armenia.
On November 25, national security and police officers raided an armed group in Yerevan. According to official reports, weapons and armaments were found in the house. --0-----
