Heyneke Meyer quits: Twitter reacts
The Bok coach's resignation created a massive buzz on Twitter. But many feel he would have been sacked anyway...
|||For months now, most South Africans have been calling for the head of the Springbok team’s coach.
So, when Heyneke Meyer announced his resignation, it must have felt like Christmas came early for true blue rugby fans.
After an abysmal run, and a rotten Rugby World Cup, Meyer, who had been feted as the saviour of the national team when he took over from Peter de Villiers, finally announced his resignation right in the middle of the Oscar Pistorius appeal verdict.
Perhaps Heyneke was being canny in taking advantage of the media focus on the celebrity killer, to quietly announce his exit?
After all, he has losses to Japan and Argentina on his record!
Twitter users seem to think he would have been axed anyway.
