Husband hacks wife to death

Police commenced investigations into an incident where a woman had been hacked and shot dead by her husband in Wennappuwa on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Dimithu Thakshila Fernando, a 29-year-old resident of Siripampala area in Lunuwila. Her remains are kept at the morgue of the Marawila Hospital. The postmortem examination is to be held. The victim and the suspect, a married couple, lived in Italy, Police Media Unit said. The victim arrived in Sri Lanka due to a family problem.
