Cabinet nod for RTI Bill

The Cabinet has approved the Right to Information (RTI) Bill. It will be forwarded to Parliament in January 2016, Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said.

He made this observation at the Cabinet press briefing at the Government Information Department yesterday.

The right to information act will enable citizens to access information, MP Dr. Jayampathi Wickramaratne.

The Act will be gazetted and forwarded to the Provincial Council. The public can present their opinion later, he said.
