Rooney Mara & Adam Driver Reportedly Circling Leos Carax's Upcoming Musical
It's been over three years since Leos Carax unveiled his Denis Lavant powered "Holy Motors," and not much has been heard from the director since. Earlier this year, theatrical quirk-pop pranksters Sparks revealed they were working on a musical project with Carax, and it appears the pieces are starting to be pulled together.
French magazine Les Inrockuptibles (via The Film Stage) reports that Rooney Mara and Adam Driver are circling a project to be lensed by cinematographer Caroline Champetier ("Holy Motors," "Of Gods And Men"). The musical comedy must secure financing for the 10 to 12 million Euro budget, so we'll see if this pans out. Moreover, there aren't any plot details yet, though trying to divine plot details for a Carax film doesn't seem wise. But as you might expect, this won't be a traditional song-and-dance effort.
