Benue Re-Run: Mark’s Rival Reacts To Ex-Senate President’s FREE Rice Campaign
Dan Onjeh, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming Benue Zone C senatorial re-run has advised his opponent, David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the election.

Speaking on Channels TV programme, Sunrise Daily and monitored by Daily Post, Onjeh advised Mark to apologize to the people of the constituency after deceiving them for 16 years.
The APC candidate also urged Mark to pull out of the race and submit himself to the anti-graft agency.
Reacting to reports making round that David Mark has started campaign, Onjeh said: “The electorates in Benue South are wiser now and won’t be fooled by Mark’s rice, salt and tomatoes.
“The truth is that Mark has never won any election in Benue South. He boasted that our people will vote him again. That’s hilarious. He should apologise to our people for oppressing them for 16.”

The former Senate president David Mark was dismissed by a court of appeal sitting in Makurdi which ruled his election invalid and ordered a rerun within 90 days.
Naij.com recalls that Mark’s victory at the Benue south senatorial district election was challenged by Daniel Onjeh on the grounds that the poll was marred by irregularities.
But the election petitions tribunal sitting in Makurdi had in October upheld the election of the former Senate president.
However, undeterred by the ruling, Donald Onjeh challenged the decision of the tribunal, before the Appeal Court.
Onjeh’s lawyer, Adetunji Oso, argued that the tribunal erred when it held that the papers tendered by his client were mere documentary hearsay.
He urged the Appellate Court to allow his appeal and set aside the decision of the Tribunal.
In setting aside the election of the former Senate president, Justice Ige ruled that the election of David Mark was fraught with so many irregularities that it failed all tests of “freeness and fairness”.
Reports had emanated that Mark was declared winner of the poll while the collation of results for the Benue south senatorial district’s election on March 28 despite election still on-going in seven of the nine local government areas of the state.
