After PM’s nod, IIT Goa to be reality in 2016
Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave his nod for six new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), allotted across India, to commence operations from the upcoming 2016 academic season. Modi has agreed to the IITs beginning classes from temporary premises until permanent infrastructure is created for them. This has paved way for the IIT allotted to Goa to begin functioning from June 2016 from its temporary premise, the Goa Engineering College at Farmagudi, identified for the purpose.
