No, CNN will not be paying Donald Trump $5 million to appear in next presidential debate
In Donald Trump news, CNN says it won't be paying Donald Trump $5 million to appear in the next CNN-hosted presidential debate just because Donald Trump wants them to.
During a Georgia rally on Monday, Trump challenged CNN to pay him $5 million, which he said he would donate to military charities, to appear at the next GOP debate."How about I tell CNN, who doesn't treat me properly ... I'm not gonna do the next debate, OK?" Trump asked the crowd on Monday.
CNN president Jeff Zucker, however, says the network won't be doing that. (And really, has there ever been a network or pundit that Donald Trump thought has "treated him properly?" Maybe Alex Jones, I suppose.)
Of course, Donald Trump could simply donate $5 million to military charities himself, since he is worth, according to him, eleventy billion dollars or so. But he won't, because he didn't get rich by treating other people properly.
So will Donald Trump show up for the next debate, even though his ransom demand has not been met? Well, there'll be television cameras there—so I'm going to put my money on "yes."
