McClaren has two games to save his job at Newcastle
Newcastle United have reportedly given under fire manager Steve McClaren two matches to turn the Magpies' season around, or face the axe.
The Daily Mirror is reporting McClaren held 'high level' talks with the club this week, but was given no assurances of his future at St James' Park.
Newcastle currently sit second from bottom on the Premier League ladder and face difficult fixtures against Liverpool and Tottenham over the next fortnight.
McClaren said he is unsure whether he will still be at the helm of the Tyneside club should they continue to falter in the coming weeks.
It's football. It's football, so you never know," McClaren said.
"You go into every job knowing the impatience of football and you need results.
"We know what the situation is. It's game to game and we're fighting for the next result."
