Visually challenged man cycles, climbs trees and catches fish
Though destined to live in darkness, the ability to overcome obstacles is what makes Shivanand Harikant different from the rest of his ilk. Born visually challenged in a fisherman's family at Horabhag in Kumta taluk, the 35-year-old ekes out a living by catching fish in the sea. He rides a bicycle as well as a bike; climbs coconut trees with ease, and is an expert swimmer.
