ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank to sponsor ceremony of granting diplomas to French University in Armenia graduates

 ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank will be a sponsor of the ceremony granting diplomas to the French University in Armenia (l'UFAR) graduates of 2014-2015. The ceremony will be held on December 4 at 6:30pm in concert hall named after Arno Babajanyan. During the event the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) on behalf of acting director Hovik Eordekian  will grant 24 students with scholarships for excellent academic performance. According to the press service of l'UFAR, ACBA- Credit Agricole Bank is the University's many-year partner, who takes an active part in personnel training programs in Armenia and offers students regular internship opportunities, with the best ones given jobs in the bank. ACBA- Credit Agricole Bank has played a big role in the history of l'UFAR.  Particularly, it has sponsored the opening of its Banking and Insurance Department.

Invited to the ceremony are Chairman of l'UFAR's Board of Trustees Artur Baghdasaryan, Armenia's Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan, Ambassador of France to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier, President of Jean Moulin - Lyon 3 University Jacques Comby, CEO of ACBA- Credit Agricole Bank Hakob Andreasyan, ambassadors, officials, students and parents.

As of today UFAR has over 1,500 graduates, of whom 70% have found jobs in Armenia and only 6-7% have gone abroad. UFAR was founded in 2001 by the governments of Armenia and France. The University graduates bachelors and masters and grants them Armenian state and Jean Moulin - Lyon 3 University diplomas.

To recall, Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) is non-commercial Armenian organization established in Cairo, Egypt on April 15, 1906 by known national figure Poghos Nubar. AGBU retains and promotes Armenian identity and cultural heritage by educational, cultural and humanitarian projects, uniting around 400 000 Armenians in 35 countries. Nowadays AGBU has offices in 80 cities of 22 countries around the world. It has 22000 members, 120 branches, 27 cultural centers and is spread in all the world including the USA, Europe, Middle East, South America and Australia. AGBU has 20 schools (6600 schoolchildren), two libraries, one in Paris and another in New York. 

To note, "ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK" CJSC has been operating in Armenia since 1995. Since September 2006, the majority shareholders of the Bank are Credit Agricole S.A. (15.56%) and SJSC "Sacam International" (part of Credit Agricole S.A  - 12.44%). Along with them, 10 agricultural cooperative unions hold shares in the capital of ACBA- CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK.
