JLR India Reports Strong 31% Sales Growth in Q1 FY2025
Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced a robust 31% year-on-year (YoY) growth in sales for the first quarter of the financial year 2025. The luxury automaker sold 1,371 units during this period, compared to 1,048 units in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Driving this growth were the strong performances of the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Evoque, which together contributed to over 50% of the sales increase. The Defender emerged as the top-selling model for JLR India in Q1 FY2025. Notably, the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender combined accounted for a substantial 75% of the company’s total orderbook.
To further strengthen its position, JLR India is expanding local production to include the Range Rover LWB and Range Rover Sport at its Chakan plant. This move complements the existing local assembly of the Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-Pace, and Discovery Sport.
JLR India’s Managing Director, Rajan Amba, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, highlighting the 10% growth in the order book compared to the beginning of the fiscal year. He attributed the success to the continued strong demand for the Defender and the positive response to the locally assembled Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
