The focus of this propaganda campaign was to present the problem of Armenian prisoners being illegally detained and tortured by Azerbaijan. The youth put on shirts with photographs of the military- political leadership of Artsakh, illegally detained in prisons by Azerbaijan, thereby drawing attention to the issue of the release of twenty-three prisoners. The young people called on US lawmakers to take immediate action to ensure the immediate release of Armenian prisoners and to hold Azerbaijan accountable for war crimes.
Then they defiantly lined up in front of the participants of the briefing organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy, reminding them of Azerbaijan's anti-Armenian aggression. The young people had posters with photographs of Armenian hostages. The briefing was coordinated by Ezra Friedlander, a US- registered "foreign agent" of the Azerbaijani government who, according to the US Department of Justice, receives $500,000 a year to promote pro-Azerbaijani policies in Congress.
After meeting with the youth, Congressman Brad Sherman wrote on his X microblog: "I am inspired by meeting with a new generation of American Armenians who defend the justice of Artsakh and the need for the release of Armenian prisoners illegally held by Azerbaijan. Among these prisoners of war is David Babayan, whom I met in my office a year before his illegal abduction by Azerbaijan."
The Hay Dat youth delegation called on members of Congress to immediately discuss and pass a number of important bills aimed at holding Azerbaijan accountable and facilitating the release of Armenian hostages.
