Kia India Recalls 1,138 EV6 Units Over ICCU Issue
Kia India has initiated a voluntary recall affecting 1,138 units of its EV6 electric crossover. The recall stems from a potential issue with the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which could impact the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.
Affected Vehicles
Manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023, the affected EV6 models will undergo a software update to rectify the ICCU issue. The ICCU plays a crucial role in converting high voltage from the main battery to power the 12V battery, essential for various vehicle functions like climate control, infotainment, and lighting. Kia has informed the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways about the recall and will directly contact affected owners to schedule software updates.
Owners can also proactively reach out to their nearest Kia dealership for further information or to schedule an appointment.
