Mirzapur Season 3: Decoding why Guddu bhaiya's new season didn't strike a chord like the previous two instalments
It is not easy to keep audience hooked to a web series season after season. Especially when there's a huge gap between the release of two seasons, the interest slowly but surely wanes. However, Prime Video's Panchayat and Mirzapur have been examples of how Indian web series, with their storytelling, can keep audience interested and looking forward to the next season, each time a new season ends. It is equally tough to match up to the expectations. While Panchayat 3 succeeded, Mirzapur season 3 didn't impress most who had been waiting for a riveting season. Yes, the series did make some OTT viewership records, but the reviews from critics and aam junta are proof that Mirzapur season 3 was far from what was expected. So what really went wrong? What really went missing for Mirzapur 3 to turn into a season below par? Here's a look:

Character Absence
In this season, major characters from the first two installments are notably absent, except for Golu (Shweta Tripathi) and Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) . The absence of beloved characters can leave fans feeling disconnected and longing for the familiar faces that defined the show's earlier seasons. Even Pankaj Tripathi's character of Kaleen Bhaiya, the jaan and shaan of Mirzapur, wasn't his usual self. Absence of Munna bhaiya aka Divyendu Sharma has also been a great aspect. He was the tadka in the show and that very factor was missed.
Lack of Strong New Characters
Mirzapur Season 3 introduces fewer compelling new characters. Unlike previous seasons, which featured memorable additions, this installment struggles to create impactful personalities. A strong ensemble cast is crucial for maintaining viewer engagement, and this aspect fell short in Season 3.
Story Pacing and Loopholes
The narrative fails to properly revive from Season 2. Some plotlines feel rushed, while others drag on without significant development. Additionally, there are noticeable loopholes in the story itself, leaving viewers questioning certain events and character motivations.

The clash for power, the return of Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), and the post-credit scene keep fans intrigued and eagerly awaiting Season 4. Let's hope the next installment addresses these issues and delivers the gripping storytelling we've come to expect from the world of Mirzapur!
