Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Launched at Rs. 2.39 Lakh
After much wait, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla has been launched at an introductory price of ₹2.39 lakh ex-showroom. The new 450 cc motorcycle from RE will come in three variants and five colours.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla Variants
Tough there are five colours to choose from, they are variant exclusive like with the Himalayan 452. The base Analog variant will be available with the Smoke and Playa Black. This variant is priced at ₹2.39 lakh. Dash is the mid variant and sport the Playa Black and Gold Dip colours. The Dash variant is priced at ₹2.49 lakh. Lastly, the top end Flash variant is priced at ₹2.54 lakh and will be available in the Yellow Ribbon and Brava Blue colourways. Only the top Flash variant will get the fully digital instrument console. The other two will get the analog console with the tripper navigation.
Design
The Guerrilla 450 embraces Royal Enfield’s signature modern-retro aesthetic. Key design elements include a round LED headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a sleek tail section. The seat is lower than the Himalayan and overall the body-work is simpler and modest. As opposed to the Himlayan this is something that can be ridden daily.
Engine
The Guerrilla 450 gets the same Sherpa 450 unit which is a 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.4 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which gets a slip and assist clutch. With the loss in the dry weight, we can expect this to be quicker than the Himalayan.
In terms of competition, the Guerrilla 450 goes up against the Triumph Speed 400, the Hero Maverick 440, the Harley Davidson 440X, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and the KTM Duke 390.
