San Bernardino shooting officially being investigated as an 'act of terrorism'

The San Bernardino shooting that killed 14 people and injured 21 more is now officially being investigated as an "act of terrorism," the FBI announced during a Friday press conference. The news comes shortly after officials reportedly found evidence that one of the suspected shooters, Tashfeen Malik, had pledged allegiance to ISIS in a Facebook post made during the shooting, in which she and her husband Syed Farook allegedly opened fire in a conference room at Inland Regional Center before they died in a shootout with the police.

The FBI added that it found broken cell phones in a trash can near the scene, and that the suspects attempted to destroy digital fingerprints.

"We have uncovered evidence that has led us to learn of extensive planning, obviously we've uncovered evidence of explosives, multiple armaments," FBI assistant director in Los Angeles David Bowdich said.
