Govt doubles LU grant

The upcoming financial year is expected to show lower deficit in the Lucknow University’s (LU’s) financial statement. For the state government has, in principle, agreed to double the grant of LU. So the university will now get Rs 70 crore instead of the existing Rs 38 crore. However, the total grant sought by the university is Rs 89 crore.
