Narahenpita former OIC remanded

Former OIC of Narahenpita Police arrested for allegedly soliciting a Rs. 2.5 million bribe from a businessman in Kollupitiya was yesterday remanded till December 7 after being produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris.

The suspect was arrested by Bribery Commission officials yesterday.

Bribery Commission sleuths alleged that Upul Dammika had demanded a Rs. 2.5 million bribe from the businessman after being promised that he would take steps not to prosecute the businessman in Courts over a complaint of preparing fake documents.
