As a User Experience Designer at Double Helix, you will become a key collaborator on a team of game developers creating engaging, connected experiences for our gamer customers. You will work with our product management, design and engineering teams to create engaging and meaningful UI designs. We’ll count on you to raise the bar with strong design fundamentals, an artistic eye to create engaging user interfaces, progressions systems, tutorials, and world class ecosystems.
Deeply connected to games and gamers and bring that connection to designing engaging user experiences and influence core systems that strengthens players’ excitement in our games
Ability to fully own and define the flow and form of multiple user interfaces through prototyping, mock ups and documentation, as well as bring together multiple systems into a cohesive overall experience
Understand how to create and build a path between ecommerce, social, and player retention systems that allow players to achieve their goals quickly, but also can continually evolve and add depth to explore and learn
Experience creating learning tutorials, rewards, achievements and status systems, regular in-game challenges and player-to-player connectivity
Strong understanding of all phases of the design process and comfortable writing design documents, drafting layouts, scripting UI, and the game shell; confident and clear communicating ideas and designs across disciplines and leadership
Partner with other disciplines to clearly communicate the user experience ideas and designs and gain understanding for the key player segment use cases
Establish best practices and processes for UX design; be a thought leader in pushing boundaries
Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years in a UX design role· Has shipped at least one game title as a UX designer (from project start to end)· Experience with designing progression systems and in-game economies· Experience with Flash and/or HMTL· Experience with Photoshop, or equivalent, for wireframing
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience· Avid gamer with a passion for robust game systems· Experience on PC Free-to-Play titles a plus
