When Salman Khan revealed why he doesn't take stardom seriously, 'I'm wearing a Rs 550 worth t-shirt...'

Salman Khan has consistently avoided the label of superstar, even in a time when people casually label anyone who delivers a few hits. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor faced questions about his stardom in an interview in 2015. Salman told PTI that he doesn't take stardom seriously and doesn't even behave like one. Khan believes that that's how people perceive him.

The Kick actor revealed in the same interview that he doesn't dress like a star. The actor told the interviewer that he is wearing Rs 500 worth of t-shirts and 15-year-old jeans, and his shoes are 20 years old. The audience perceives him as a star through his on-screen characters.

Salman Khan acknowledged that thousands of people have helped him build his image. After many years in the industry, he now has the liberty to select scripts, but earlier in his career, he had no such choice. In his journey, influential figures such as Sooraj Barjatya, his father Salim Khan, and Deepak Bahry played key roles. He worked with many directors and writers, learning what to choose and what to avoid. He stated that it is not just him, but also the scripts he selected and the people he worked with, who are responsible for shaping his career.

Currently, Salman Khan is busy with Sikandar, an action thriller film. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj and will be produced by Nadiadwala Grandson. It will release in theatres during Eid 2025. After 10 years, Sajid Nadiadwala is working on the script of his 2014 film Kick. We might soon see Salman reprise the role of Devil in the action film.
