Thar Roxx Interior Spied: A Closer Look at Mahindra’s 5-Door Off-Roader
New images of the upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx’s interior have surfaced online, offering a glimpse into the 5-door off-roader’s cabin ahead of its August 15 launch. While the leaked photos appear to depict a mid-spec variant, it still boasts a decent feature list.
A Departure from the Norm: Two Sunroof Options for the Thar Roxx
A notable revelation is that Mahindra will offer two sunroof options for the Thar Roxx, a departure from the industry norm of a single sunroof or none at all. The spied model, lacking the panoramic sunroof seen in recent teasers, suggests a tiered feature set.
Upgraded Tech and Familiar Layout
The interior shares the familiar Thar dashboard layout but upgrades with a larger infotainment touchscreen, likely a 10.25-inch unit compared to the 3-door’s 7-inch screen. Other standard features include manual air conditioning, an analog instrument cluster with a digital MID, and steering-mounted controls. The Thar Roxx adopts the XUV700’s steering wheel and introduces a new white upholstery option, potentially with ventilation for the front seats.
While the white upholstery adds a modern touch, its practicality in an off-roader is questionable. Nevertheless, the cabin is expected to offer a range of modern amenities, including a larger touchscreen, frameless rearview mirror, automatic climate control, six airbags, and a single-pane sunroof. Additional features confirmed for the Thar Roxx include adjustable headrests for all passengers, a split center armrest, rear armrest, three-point seat belts for all occupants, and roof-mounted rear speakers.
Powertrain and Competition
Mechanically, the Thar Roxx is anticipated to carry over the existing powertrain options, although the availability of a rear-wheel-drive variant remains uncertain. Priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (estimated), the Thar Roxx will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha.
