Armenian wrestler reaches finals at Olympic Games

ArmInfo. Five-time European champion, four-time world champion, Olympic champion, Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan has reached the final of the Olympic Games.

The day before, in the semi-final, the Armenian wrestler, competing in the 92 kg weight category, defeated Cuban Gabriel Alejandro Rosillo with a score of 5:3. Thus, Aleksanyan provided the Armenian team with at least a silver medal. In the final, the Armenian athlete's opponent will be Iranian wrestler Mohammadhadi Abdullah Saravi, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics.

Unfortunately, another Armenian wrestler, Malkhas Amoyan, competing in the 77 kg weight category, lost in the semi-final to Japanese athlete Nao Kusaka with a score of 1:3, and today he will fight for the bronze medal.
