Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, has emerged as the biggest hit of 2024 so far. The horror-comedy, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, has won over audiences with its blend of humour, suspense, and strong performances. As a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, the film had a lot to live up to, and it has not disappointed. Fans had eagerly awaited this follow-up for six years, and their patience has been rewarded with another successful installment.

Given the overwhelming love for the first film, it's no surprise that the anticipation for Stree 2 was sky-high. The excitement began building from the release of the first teaser, with fans closely following every update about the movie. However, in the days leading up to the film's release, some online users noticed similarities between the posters of Stree 2 and the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Both posters prominently feature red and blue colour schemes and show the characters with shocked expressions.

When asked about the resemblance in an interview with Bollywood Hungama entertainment news portal, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the character Jana in the film, expressed that he was unaware of any connection. He mentioned that the responsibility of promoting the film lies with the marketing team and designers, adding that as an actor, his role is simply to appear on the poster, not to design it.

Stree 2 is the fourth film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy franchise. In addition to the original Stree, the franchise includes Bhediya and Munjya. The sequel also features a special appearance by Varun Dhawan's werewolf character and a cameo by Akshay Kumar. Both appearances have been well-received by the audience, contributing to the film's success. In terms of box office performance, Stree 2 has been nothing short of phenomenal. According to the latest reports, the film has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the Indian box office. Released in theatres on August 15th, it faced competition from Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, yet managed to achieve this milestone in less than 15 days.
