Justice Minister of Armenia announces the date of the constitutional  referendum

ArmInfo.A constitutional referendum within the framework of the new agreement is planned to be held in 2027. Grigor Minasyan, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, told reporters during a briefing on August 29.  

He noted that it is necessary to carry out detailed work on such a complex document, with the involvement of specialists, and holding public discussions. The Minister emphasized that there can be no urgency here and noted that the processes slowed down somewhat in the summer due to vacations. However, the next meeting of the Commission of Constitutional Reforms on this issue will be held on September 5.  The Minister also said that as a result of the respective discussions, the members of the Commission came to a consensus that Armenia needs a new Constitution, not constitutional amendments.
