Ducati Multistrada V4 RS Launched in India at ₹38.40 Lakh

0

Ducati has officially launched the Multistrada V4 RS in India, priced at ₹38.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest model is not only the most powerful but also the most expensive Multistrada V4 available in the country. The Multistrada V4 RS marks a significant step in Ducati’s adventure bike lineup, offering unparalleled performance and a host of high-end features.

Performance and Powertrain

At the heart of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 liquid-cooled engine, borrowed from the Streetfighter V4 and Panigale V4. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, producing an impressive 177bhp at 12,250rpm and 118Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm. With these figures, the Multistrada V4 RS stands as the most powerful adventure motorcycle in its class. Enhancing its performance further, the bike is equipped with Ducati’s STM Evo-SBK dry clutch, a bi-directional quick-shifter, an Akrapovic exhaust, and an air filter derived from the Panigale V4 R.

Lightweight and Robust Design

Weighing in at just 211kg (dry), the Multistrada V4 RS is 3kg lighter than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, thanks to Ducati’s meticulous weight-saving measures. A key contributor to this reduction is the titanium rear subframe, which is 2.5kg lighter than that of other Multistrada V4 models. The bike also features 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels and a technopolymer tail section, which replaces the bulkier pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket for a sleeker look.

Advanced Suspension and Braking

The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with premium suspension components from Ohlins. The front features a 48mm fully adjustable inverted fork with titanium nitride (TIN) coating, while the rear has a TTX36 fully adjustable mono-shock. The Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 system provides comprehensive electronic suspension adjustments, ensuring optimal ride quality across various terrains.

For braking, Ducati has equipped the Multistrada V4 RS with dual 330mm semi-floating front discs, paired with Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston callipers. At the rear, a single 265mm disc with a Brembo two-piston calliper handles braking duties. The bike’s single-sided aluminium swingarm adds to its sporty character.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Features

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is packed with advanced features designed to enhance the riding experience. It boasts a 6.5-inch TFT display with navigation, screen mirroring, and RS-specific graphics. Rider aids include traction control, wheelie control, launch control, cornering ABS, and engine brake control. The bike offers four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low) and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban), as well as radar-assisted adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection.

Sporty Aesthetics

Visually, the Multistrada V4 RS exudes sportiness, especially in its MotoGP-inspired Iceberg White livery with contrasting red accents. The design is further enhanced by the single-sided swingarm and the sleek technopolymer tail section, making it one of the most visually striking models in Ducati’s lineup.

Availability and Competition

Bookings for the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS are now open, with deliveries set to commence in September 2024. In the Indian market, the Multistrada V4 RS will compete directly with the BMW M 1000 XR, priced at ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom).
