CDC Loosens School Head Lice Guidelines

The CDC released new guidance on head lice protocol and it’s a head scratcher!

The CDC released new guidelines on head lice protocol that no longer require students with lice to be sent home from school..

As if we needed yet another reason to side-eye the CDC, now they are cool with lice-headed kids spreading it around the dang school?

I bet parents are just thrilled about this. What a great idea!

The CDC’s new guidelines note that since lice isn’t considered a communicable disease, kids with lice don’t need to be sent home immediately. 

Rather, they can wait till the school day is over- and presumably after they’ve passed around their head bugs to others- to go home and treat the crawling insects in their hair. 

Oh, and it gets better, the CDC also suggests that schools abandon the “no-nit” policies that require a student to be free of insect eggs before they return to school.

This is not only ridiculous, it’s quite disgusting!
