Scandal: Dogara Gives Blunt Reply To House Of Rep Accusation

Hon Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has spoken-up in dismissal of the outrageous claims that members of the lower House are paid N18m as salary.

The leader of reps shared his take on the issue via his Twitter handle.

Dogara defended the House vehemently, saying that the accusation was joke.

He stressed that it was in no way possible to earn a salary way above the allocated funds for the House of Reps.

A recent report by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), showed that while many Nigerians live in squalor, members of the Nigerian parliaments are dwelling in too much affluence.

According to the report, the average Nigerian Senator earns N12, 939, 549 while, an average Nigerian Reps member earns at least N9, 740, 310.
