Amitabh Bachchan once confessed to smoking 200 cigarettes a day, 'My habits don't...'

One such actor who always shared whatever was on his mind was Amitabh Bachchan. During the 70s and 80s, Big B has given some amazing and sensational interviews that would often startle his fans.
One such interview is when Amitabh Bachchan spoke about his drinking and smoking habits. The actor also talked about eating meat and why he stopped it. Did you know Big B used to smoke 200 cigarettes a day? Yes, the revelation was made by the megastar himself in an interview with India Today in 1980. The actor talked about being a chain smoker and how he changed his lifestyle.
In the interview, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he doesn't smoke, drink, or eat meat, and there is no religious angle to his lifestyle habits. His habits are derived from his taste and stated that his father was a vegetarian while his mother wasn't. Even his wife, Jaya Bachchan, eats meat. Further, he revealed that there was a time he used to consume all of these a lot.
"In Calcutta, I smoked 200 cigarettes a day yes, that's right, 200 but then I gave it up after coming to Bombay. I used to drink too anything. We'd drink anything we could get our hands on but a few years ago I decided I didn't really need it. My habits don't cause me any problems except when I'm shooting abroad. Then, it becomes difficult to get vegetarian food," revealed the Sholay star.

Due to these healthy habits, Amitabh Bachchan is still so fit and good in his 80s. The actor works for more than several younger stars. Big B is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 while also working on his movie projects. After Kalki 2898 AD, Amitabh will entertain the audience in the Tamil film, Vettaiyan. The trailer for the same was released today. It also stars Rajinikanth in the lead role and will hit theatres on October 11, 2024.
