Mahindra ZEO Electric Small Commercial Vehicle Launched at ₹7.52 Lakh
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), India’s leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, has launched the Mahindra ZEO, a new electric small commercial vehicle (SCV), starting at ₹7.52 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZEO, targeting the sub-2-tonne electric vehicle segment, promises extended range, fast charging capabilities, and a suite of advanced features aimed at urban logistics and transportation.
Key Features and Performance
The Mahindra ZEO is powered by a 300+ V high-voltage system, delivering 30 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 21.3 kWh liquid-cooled battery that meets AIS038 safety standards. The ZEO offers a real-world driving range of up to 160 km, supplemented by regenerative braking. It supports DC fast charging, which can provide a 100 km range in just 60 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle boasts a payload capacity of up to 765 kg and a top speed of 60 km/h.
Enhanced Safety and Technology
The ZEO includes an advanced Driver Monitoring System (DMS) with AI-enabled ADAS features such as Lane Departure Warning and Pedestrian Collision Warning. It is equipped with Hill Hold Assist, a Creep Function for ease in heavy traffic, and a semi-forward cabin design for improved safety. The vehicle also features the NEMO telematics system for fleet management and individual driver support, enabling real-time data access and performance monitoring.
Cost Efficiency and Warranty
Mahindra projects significant cost savings with the ZEO, estimating that customers can save up to ₹7 lakh over seven years compared to a diesel SCV. The vehicle comes with a seven-year/150,000 km battery warranty and offers service packages under the Mahindra Safar program, which includes roadside assistance and extended warranties.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of MLMML, emphasized the ZEO’s potential to drive the adoption of electric vehicles in the commercial segment. “The Mahindra ZEO is a reflection of our commitment to reimagine last-mile transportation through innovative and reliable electric solutions,” she said.
The Mahindra ZEO is expected to play a key role in India’s transition to electric commercial vehicles, offering a cleaner and more cost-effective option for urban logistics.
