RPT-Dip in UK financial misconduct fines can't mask upward trend

LONDON, Dec 8 (Reuters) - Fines dished out to misbehaving banks in Britain are set to top 900 million pounds ($1.35 billion) this year, bringing a bumper windfall for some charities and further evidence of a shift nearer the U.S. model of severe penalties to deter wrongdoing.
