Premier League stay attached to Nike
The Premier League has extended its sponsorship and supply deal with global sportswear giant Nike for a further three years, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
Nike becomes the second Premier League sponsor - after goal-line technology partner EA - to sign on with the league until 2019.
The league is currently restructuring its sponsorship offering after taking the decision not to sign a title sponsor after current title partner Barclays steps away at the end of the current season.
Nike has been a Premier League partner since the 2000/01 season, and will continue to act as the official ball provider to the league under the terms of the new deal.
The company will also provide support for the Premier League's 'Players' Kit' scheme, which supplies schools and local teams with apparel.
"Nike is the number one brand in football, and a natural partner for one of the world's most prestigious football leagues," said Lorenzo Moretti, vice president and general manager for Western Europe Football at Nike.
"Nike is able to continually innovate through the relationships we hold with the world's best players, clubs, federations and leagues. With this renewal, we look forward to further strengthening the Premier League."
Nike also currently acts as the official ball provider to La Liga and Serie A among other soccer competitions around the world.
